Kymi: An island facing the Aegean

Kymi is a beautiful, picturesque town and port on the eastern coast of Evia. It is about 87 km from Chalkida and has about 3,000 inhabitants and is the seat of the metropolis of Karystia and Skyros.

It is built amphitheatrically on a hill overlooking the sea and offers a panoramic view of the Aegean Sea, which is why it is often called “the balcony in the Aegean”.

In addition to being a port that connects Evia with Skyros, Kymi is a city with history and very interesting sights. It has a strong maritime past and during the 19th century, it had an increased economy as it was a major commercial center.
